Arcadia
It was pleasant then,
warm and comfortable.
Your words were soft on the air
laughter light and tuneful
We welcomed the breeze
as it played with shafts of sunlight
on the rippled surface
of the gentle water
We welcomed the silence
broken only by birdsong
and the water’s edge lapping
at our feet
I will welcome you again
when you leave where you are now
and meet me here, stay here,
forever. Let it be soon.

Mmm…I can put myself into the “I” in this poem and be right there. Lovely!
